How it works

  1. A natural death occurs
  2. A health information management person at the hospital/skilled nursing facility, or a representative of the funeral home, initiates the death certificate using eCedent's secure website, naming the physician of record
  3. We automatically notify you electronically, via email, fax, or text message
  4. You log onto eCedent.com (from anywhere, at anytime), fill out the required data, and electronically sign the death certificate via an encrypted, password-protected signature system
  5. The funeral home is notified electronically when the certificate is physician-certified, fills in remaining data, and can print and mail the completed death certificate
