How it works
- A natural death occurs
- A health information management person at the hospital/skilled nursing facility, or a representative of the funeral home, initiates the death certificate using eCedent's secure website, naming the physician of record
- We automatically notify you electronically, via email, fax, or text message
- You log onto eCedent.com (from anywhere, at anytime), fill out the required data, and electronically sign the death certificate via an encrypted, password-protected signature system
- The funeral home is notified electronically when the certificate is physician-certified, fills in remaining data, and can print and mail the completed death certificate
